You might have heard of PeoplePerHour whether you are a freelancer looking for new work or you’re looking to hire someone or just get some nice backlinks. It is a huge platform for freelancers and employers, but it does have some pros and cons.

How it works
If you’re a freelancer, we’ll tell you that creating a PPH account is very easy. It does take some time to get your account verified by a PPH employee, but once that is done, you can get paid for the projects you complete.
The platform is very user-friendly, so finding projects, making proposals or offers, and creating invoices, and getting paid are very easy.
If you want to hire freelancers and virtual assistants, there are several ways of using the service. You can choose to pay someone hourly, you can create a project for a fixed price, or you can find the services or even let the freelancers find you.
The categories that are available on the site at this time are the following:
- Writing and translation

- Design
- Video, photo, and audio
- Sales and marketing
- Website development
- Software development and mobile
- Business support
You can also browse through the myriad of freelancers that are working on the platform and find the profile of the one that best suits your needs and expectations. Like Fiverr, People Per Hour allows you to look for people in a specific location. So, if you’re from the United Kingdom or the United States and you want to work with individuals in your country, you can do just that.
Payments
If you’re an employer, you’ll be happy to know that the platform accepts payments from a variety of sources, and they range from bank transfers and Paypal to Visa, MasterCard, Moneybookers, Paysafecard, Trustpay, Moneta, and others. The money is then deposited into your PPH wallet, and you can use it to hire people.
As for how freelancers can be paid, there are a variety of methods available for them, too. Some of the most popular ones are Paypal and Payoneer. The currencies in which you can get paid are euro, US dollars, and British pounds.
What we like about the site is that they have Escrow protection, so even if a client becomes unresponsive, the money is going to be kept for seven days, and you’re going to be paid. The company handles disputes quite well, based on the information we have come across.
Fees
This section is important for anyone wanting to make money with PeoplePerHour. As many PPH jobs that you might be able to get, you will have to pay for the fees of the platform. For example, if you make less than 500 pounds with a client, you will be charged a fee of 20%. If you make anything between 500 and 5,000 pounds with a client, you will be charged just 7.5%, while if it’s over 5,000, your fee will be just 3.5%.
There are also fees for when you want to withdraw your money. You can pay up to $20 or more per PayPal transfer and around 2% per Payoneer transfer. International bank transfers are not subjected to any fees.
Pros and cons
As is the case with any other freelancing platform, there are both advantages and disadvantages to using People Per Hour.

Many PeoplePerHour reviews point out that there are some disadvantages to using this platform. First of all, you only get 15 free bids per month, which can be a serious drawback for someone who’s recently made their profile. On top of that, your account is going to be deleted if you do not make at least $100 in a specific time span.
The fees are another drawback that freelancers and clients should consider. It also seems to be pretty challenging to get in touch with someone at the company, especially when trying to get your account verified.
The interface is not something worth writing home about, either, since it looks like something taken straight out of the 1990s.

Is it worth it?
If you’re trying to make some extra money, it wouldn’t hurt if you created a PeoplePerHour account. However, since you’re going to be a new user, you might not be lucky enough to win too many projects before you get booted off the platform.
As for clients, we definitely recommend PeoplePerHour for getting guest posts and cheap writers – there is a myriad of offers available.
