Alternatives to Amazon Affiliate
We all know that Amazon Associates cut their commissions yet again last month, it has been a real pain for many affiliate marketers out there who are all in on Amazon Affiliates, I know so many guys and their whole business model is 100% based around Amazon, what a kick in the teeth that was especially with one week’s notice and during a pandemic, how ruthless are amazon associates with that trick? But no need to worry you can switch away from amazon quite easily just pick another monetization model, whether that’s eBay, Target or some other affiliate network like skimlinks.com there are tons of ways to make sure that you have an alternative to Amazon Associates.

Now its a pain in the backside trawling the internet trying to find good deals that give you more than your current commission right? Well, my man Serge Shlykov from AMZWatcher.com has come up with a solution. Serge is also an affiliate marketer but he has a software engineering background and had AMZWatcher.com to initially find products that were no longer listed, broken links and links that have no affiliate ID on them and that worked well over the past few years. Many people do get lazy and don’t update the links on their website so the conversations decrease and people were not getting full value from their website. There is nothing worse than as a customer clicking on something that is no longer in stock, or it brings up a 404 page.
Below you can see the simple screen you when setting up AMZ Watcher, you enter your URL, how often you want the links on your site checked and off you go its fairly easy, and you can also configure some other options to help the tool perform better.
Amazon Alternatives Finder
So the main focus of this tool is the ability to find better commissions than Amazon Associates so I will have a strong focus on this area, once you have put your website into AMZ Watcher and ran a crawl you will be given a dashboard which will highlight a number of different potential issues with some of your links, pages and products that might no longer be available. So the dashboard is pictured below:
Now to go on and find the Amazon alternatives you click on to see the latest report and then click on the alternative finders tab which is directly below the project health score in the below screenshot.
Now on this screen, it’s going to show you all of the products that have alternatives, it will show you how many alternatives there are, in most cases it will show amazons commission, the highest of the available other commissions and the % more you can make by switching out to an alternative affiliate. Now, this is great for now if you have been hit by Amazon slashing their commissions, but its also good for those of you who buy and sell websites, one of my things to do is to buy an amazon affiliate site and then switch the monetization model of the website to a different more lucrative affiliate deal and then flip the website on for a much higher profit. So you can use this amazon alternative tab if you were to do this type of work.
At the moment there are a whole bunch of alternative deals, which isn’t bad considering this was 4 weeks ago that Amazon slashed their commissions, but the chaps at AMZWatcher.com will be adding a hell of a lot more alternatives in the coming weeks and months.
