StreamYard Affiliate Program Review
We’ve written a separate review of Streamard, so we suggest that you take the time to give it a read, since you might find out some new features you might not have explored yet when it comes to Streamyard.
But as you probably know, getting informed on what you are about to promote to your followers before you do so is quite important, especially since you do not want to break their trust and end up recommending something of poor quality.
Luckily, you are not going to have to deal with this problem if you become a StreamYard affiliate since the product itself is extremely user-friendly and effective. In a nutshell, content creators can rely on StreamYard to stream their content live to a variety of social media networks, whether they be LinkedIn or YouTube or Facebook or Twitter.
Besides these handy features, StreamYard also takes the cake when it comes to the quality of the image. To that end, all of the speakers, whether they have a bit of lag or not, end up looking great on camera so that they can continue streaming regardless of their connection quality.
First of all, the great thing about StreamYard is that at the time we are writing this article, it has a free plan available. That means that anyone in your audience interested in testing out the product before committing to a subscription can actually do that without spending a single cent.
Naturally, the free plan does come with certain limitations, but we’d say that it still satisfies some basic requirements. However, one needs to bear with streaming limits, the StreamYard logo on the live video, just 2 seats (which means you’ll be able to invite another user, but that’s it), and up to 6 on-screen participants.
As for the paid plans that you will be able to recommend as a StreamYard affiliate, they start with the Basic and end with the Business plan. For transparency’s sake, we are only going to talk about the annual plans and what each user can be charged every month for them — not the true monthly payment model.
The Basic plan is billed at $20 per month and includes various features such as the ability to record live streams, up to 10 on-screen participants, the removal of the StreamYard Logo, and more. Overlays and backgrounds can also be used with this one, which is an advantage for people who are streaming from home.
The next plan is the Professional one and it costs $39 per month. It includes full HD quality, an extra camera, up to 12 backstage participants, 8 destinations, and 4 seats, along with the ability to pre-record a stream for up to two hours.
The Premium is billed at $79 per month and comes with the same previously mentioned features along with extra ones such as up to 1,000 viewers, 15 backstage participants, 10 seats, and up to 4 hours of pre-recorded streams.
There’s also a Growth plan that costs $239 per month and that gives users the ability to stream to up to 10,000 viewers at a time. A greenroom and pre-recorded streams of up to 8 hours are also included in this plan.
Finally, the Business plan is a mystery when it comes to its pricing, but this is also due to the fact that its features are very customizable, so brands can simply opt for whatever matches their needs best. With this one, the user gets more than 10 seats, more than 10,000 viewers for on-air transmissions, production services, extra user roles, and more than 700 hours of storage, along with other perks that can be adjusted as per every business’ needs.
First of all, although you might come across some information according to which this program is also hosted by other affiliate networks, we’d like to note that you need to submit an application on the company’s own website.
Use the link Partners.StreamYard.com to consult the basic information about becoming an affiliate and then fill out the form and wait for a response.
Apparently, you do not need to be a StreamYard user yourself in order to apply to the program, but we strongly suggest that you create an account and test out the features of the free plan before even mentioning it to your audience.
This is without a doubt the part that you’ve been waiting for if you ended up reading our review, so here’s what you should know. If you use the StreamYard affiliate program for monetizing your content, you can earn 25% of whatever your referrals are paying for their subscription.
But wait, that’s not the best part. You’ll earn 25% every time someone renews their plan, too, because this is a recurring rate instead of a one-time payment.
We would also like to note that StreamYard also has a referral program, in case you’re more interested in earning free months to the paid plans rather than actual financial earnings.
From the information that we gathered about the StreamYard affiliate program, it seems like the only payment method that you can opt for if you decide to use this technique as a way of increasing your side income is PayPal.
Whether that is an advantage or a disadvantage, it’s only for you to say — people aren’t going crazy about this payment method, though, especially in the past two years or so, and that’s because for some weird reason, PayPal representatives have started to delete accounts without providing any explanation whatsoever.
At the same time, it’s important to note that you will only be able to receive your earnings once you have amassed earnings of at least $100. All of the commissions are paid once a month, so you do not have to go through any complicated withdrawal process — the brand sends your earnings to you once you reach the threshold and as per the schedule that the company has put in place.
It goes without saying that if any of your referrals ask for their money back after getting a StreamYard subscription and the refund is processed, you will not receive a commission for that transaction.
The page that we have mentioned previously is straightforward enough when it comes to the rules that you have to abide by if you want to make sure you’re not getting booted out of the program. However, if you don’t want to waste any time reading them, we thought we might as well showcase a few here.
As it is to be expected from any other affiliate programs you might have ever been interested in joining, you’re not allowed to refer yourself or engage in any form of spamming or inappropriate advertising — you’re also not allowed to use PPC for your affiliate link directly.
Coupon and deal sites are a no-go, so if you have one of those, you’re not allowed to become a StreamYard affiliate or promote the service on those websites. On top of that, you’re not allowed to make any sort of false claims about StreamYard, whether that be offering a coupon or discount that isn’t true or any extra feature that doesn’t exist.
When it comes to the graphics that you are allowed to use, while we couldn’t find any specific info according to which you’re not permitted to use your own, it seems a better idea to resort to utilizing the ones that have been provided to you in your affiliate account.
As is the case with any other affiliate program out there, there are both benefits and drawbacks that have to be given some thought to before you decide to join and make some money with that opportunity.
In the case of StreamYard, the pros definitely seem to outweigh the cons, and the reason we’re saying that is the 25% recurring commission.
Furthermore, the brand is fairly well-known and has become even more so over the past two to three years (since the Covid Pandemic started), so at least you aren’t going to have a hard time recommending it to your audience, especially if it is composed of social media influencers.

As for the cons, we might note that the payment method (aka PayPal) could have been a little more diverse in the sense that wire transfers would have been much appreciated. The rules aren’t too restrictive, although it would be better for you to always ensure that you’re not inadvertently breaking one so that you can keep your active affiliate status and keep earning with StreamYard.
And in the end, if you feel like the StreamYard referral program makes more sense for you as you are a very serious user of the service, there’s always the option of using that to get free months to the paid subscription plan.
It depends on several different factors. If you feel like your readership wouldn’t vibe with a StreamYard review or would have nothing to use StreamYard for, this affiliate program is probably not a good choice for you at all.
On the other hand, if you’re in the digital marketing niche and generally write about or review tools and software options like StreamYard and you know for a fact that there are other content creators in your audience, becoming an affiliate might make sense.
While the 25% commission isn’t the highest one we have come across while going through dozens and dozens of other affiliate programs, it’s also true that this is one of the few recurring rate affiliate programs, so at least consider that you’ll earn a little in the future for renewals, too.

In case you don’t feel like this is the right affiliate program for you, here are a few other options you should look into.
In terms of earnings, this one is probably the best choice you have available right now. With Restream, you can make as much as 30% in recurring sales on all of the paid accounts that your referrals create.
Like StreamYard, Restream can be used to stream live content to a number of different social media platforms, whether that be Twitter or YouTube or LinkedIn or Facebook.
Previously known as Socio, this brand specializes in event organizing. There’s a referral program that Webex Events now manages and it offers 10% for every customer that you can send out their way.
The nice thing is that your referral will also get a 10% on their first yearly contract, so it’s beneficial for everyone involved. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any additional info as to how long the cookie is, the payment methods and thresholds, and anything else, so you’ll have to do a bit of digging on that yourself.

This one is somewhat comparable to what StreamYard has to offer in the sense that you’ll be getting 20% out of all of the payments that your referrals make on the side — but that’s a recurring rate, so you’ll be paid the same rate for the renewals, too.
The program isn’t managed by a separate affiliate network, which isn’t too great, and the application process might also take a while because you need to submit a request and someone at Streamster actually has to review it before giving you the green light.
