If you run a blog or a website about digital marketing, email marketing, web hosting, or pretty much any type of methods that can grow an online business, becoming a Moosend affiliate should be right up your alley.
But there are a lot of things you should be aware of before signing up in the first place. Today’s article is focused on sharing with you all of the important information you need in that sense — from how you can earn with this opportunity to what terms you should know about to make sure you are not breaking any rules.
When it comes to affiliate marketing, a lot of website owners or bloggers can get overly excited and not do the right amount of research before joining one program or the other.
To make things a little easier for you, we’ll say that Moosend can be described as one of the easiest to use and most effective email marketing and automation software options out there right now.
Plenty of world-known brands such as VOGUE, Sephora, and Ogilvy have used it before and the feedback seems to be mostly positive. What makes this choice stand out from the crowd the most is the drag and drop newsletter editor.
Yes, this feature can be found in other email marketing services, whether that be Mailchimp or something different. But this one seems to take the cake when it comes to usability.
You’re also able to do a lot of A/B testing with your email list and segment it as per your needs or performance goal.
In terms of automation, some of the features you may want to suggest that your followers try out range from a plethora of premade automation templates to a visual workflow builder, user action tracking, as well as website activity tracking.
We already mentioned some of the perks of this email marketing software, but let’s look at the plans that you will be talking about in your content as a part of your Moosend affiliate marketing endeavors.
There are three major plans. The first one is completely free, but it’s only a trial where anyone can check out the features for a period of 30 days. Some of the features that users can enjoy in this case range from one landing page or one form to automation workflows and unlimited emails.
The Pro plan is a bit more complicated to explain because it does not come with a specific number of subscribers. The lowest one is billed at $9 per month and is available for 0 to 500 subscribers – it includes all of the perks from the free trial and an SMTP server.
To give you another example, if the email list ranges from 501 to 1,000 subscribers, it is billed at $16. The one from 3,001 to 5,000 subscribers costs $48 per month. The largest Pro alternative is priced at $315 per month and works for anything between 25,001 and 50,000 people.
There is an Enterprise plan available, but it can be customized depending on every business’ needs – it includes all of the pro features available in the largest subscription, along with priority support, an account manager, SSO & SAML, as well as a dedicated IP.
One of the first things we have to note about the Moosend affiliate program is that it is self-managed. That means that you are not going to encounter it on any separate platform such as Impact Radius, CJ Affiliate, ShareASale, ClickBank, or anything else.
On the one hand, this can be considered a drawback since a lot of affiliate marketers prefer creating an account on a separate affiliate platform and having everything in a single place.
If you were to have dozens of niche websites, it would be a pain for you to have to check your commissions and performance every single day. But if you have only one, this should not be a problem.
When submitting your application, you will have to fill out a form with your first and last name, email, your website, your company, as well as the region you are based in. From what we have noticed, there don’t seem to be any restrictions in terms of location, which means that you are able to join from any part of the world.
This is what you have been waiting for if you’ve ended up reading our review, so let’s look at what the commission structure for the Moosend affiliate programs really is.
The model might look a little complicated in the beginning, but in all honesty, it is quite straightforward. You have the opportunity to make as much as 40% out of what every referral you send out Moosend’s way pays for their subscription.
Your rate starts at 30% for as many as 0 to 5 paid accounts, turns into 33% for 6-10 paid accounts, 35% for 11-25 paid accounts, 37% for 26-35 paid accounts and 40% for 36+ accounts.
Even though we did come across some information according to which these rates were recurring, the official page on the Moosend website doesn’t mention anything in terms of recurring earnings.
The majority of the other resources do make a point out of underlining that this is a recurring commission rate, so it might be worth looking into it a bit more.
This program also has a pretty decent cookie duration, at least from what we have seen by comparing it to other alternatives. Instead of the 30-day industry standard, expect a tracking cookie lasting for 60.
Given that the free trial lasts for one month, that means that your referrals will have to make up their mind after this period and you’ll still be paid a commission when they upgrade their plans.

While we couldn’t find out exactly what payment threshold this company utilizes, what we will add about the payments is that they are going to happen on a regular basis. Maybe your first commissions will be checked manually by an account manager, but once you are all set, you can expect to get your earnings into your PayPal account every month.
We would have liked to see other payment methods besides PayPal, especially since this brand’s reputation hasn’t exactly been stellar in the past few months. Besides, they do have some pretty hefty fees, which can frustrate affiliate marketers quite a bit.

Each time we look at an affiliate program, regardless of its industry, we try to be as objective as possible and give you both the benefits and potential disadvantages you can expect from it.
When it comes to the Moosend affiliate program, it seems that the pros outweigh the cons to some extent. Of course, there are caveats such as the payment method being PayPal or the fact that the program is self-managed instead of it being available on a separate affiliate platform.
If the information that we did come across is indeed true and what you will be earning even when you start being an affiliate for the brand is 30% recurring out of all the plans purchased by your audience, this is by far the most significant advantage you can expect.
If it’s a flat 30% rate, it’s still good enough for you to consider it, although you also have to look at the likelihood of your audience wanting to invest in a plan worth over $300 per month.
Another pro would be the fact that the cookie lasts for 60 days instead of the 30 days you can expect from the majority of the other affiliate programs in the same niche.
Real-time stats are available as part of the interface you get access to after your application is approved. In the end, if your performance is really good, you can expect your commission to be increased to 40% out of whatever your referrals pay for Moosend services, which is an incentive for most affiliates.
We did not read the fine print of the affiliate agreement, but we would like to add here that the majority of companies that use this type of marketing aren’t crazy about people using PPC for promoting their products, especially if they mention their names in their ads.
Consequently, we recommend promoting your own content rather than your affiliate link.

The sky’s the limit when it comes to how you can recommend Moosend to your audience. You are most definitely allowed to share your affiliate link on your social profiles, whether you have a massive following on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter.
You can also add your affiliate link in the emails you send out to your subscribers, even if you are now using a different service. Promoting the product on YouTube is also possible, and so is the option of you creating content for your blog and adding banners to your articles — everything you can use to increase your performance in a healthy way is allowed.
We couldn’t find a lot of information about Omnisend’s affiliate program in the sense that the cookie duration seems to remain a mystery. However, we did learn that the rate you can expect with this one is a recurring 20% one.
From what we have gathered, this program is self-managed, so you will have to utilize the company website to join. Omnisend relies on a Net30 model instead of the Net60 one that most other companies utilize, which means that before you can get your money, you will have to wait for just 30 days.

This one is pretty neat because even though a free version of the service basically exists forever, you can still be paid 5 euros each time one of your referrals creates an account — even a free one.
When they get an annual or monthly plan, you can expect to be paid a commission rate of $100, which is quite decent from what we have seen with other options. The rate is not recurring, so don’t expect to get it each time your referrals renew their plans.
Another advantage of this affiliate program, especially when comparing it to what Moosend has to offer, is the fact that the cookie duration is 90 days.
We’ve written about this affiliate program before and we still think it’s a pretty good alternative. It offers the same 30% commission rate you can expect from Moosend, but the main difference between the two is that ConvertKit’s one is a recurring one over a period of 24 months.
The cookie lasts for 60 days, which yet again is something you’ll find with the Moosend option. PayPal is the only payment method now used by ConvertKit, too.

While the cookie duration of this one is just 30 days, the good thing is that Mailerlite offers a 30% recurring rate on all purchases that were made through your affiliate link.
The Mailerlite program is also self-managed, so you should not expect to see it on any other separate affiliate networks. And yet again, the only payment method available with this one is PayPal, which can be a significant drawback for some individuals.
