What is Kajabi?
If you have never heard of Kajabi before, you might not even know if it is a good match for your niche. In a nutshell, Kajabi is an online hosting platform for courses and other materials that people are interested in selling.
The thing that makes the platform stand out from the crowd is that it comes with some pretty interesting features. For example, not only are you able to create your tutorials and upload them to the server, but you can also grow your audience by using the many marketing tools that Kajabi comes with.
There’s also the option of users creating an affiliate program for their individual courses and using Kajabi for all of the grunt work, such as collaborating with affiliates, paying them, and everything else.
You can use the system to do pretty much anything if you have an online presence. You can manage your contacts, payments, and look at your analytics, and also grow everything thanks to funnels that you can put together right in the Kajabi dashboard.
What can you promote on your site?
To make things easier for their customers, Kajabi has several different plans that come with unique features depending on their pricing. At the time we’re writing this, the company had a discount for the annual plans.
The Basic plan is billed annually at $149 and includes three products, three funnels, up to 10,000 contacts, 1,000 active customers, management of one website, one admin, as well as unlimited marketing emails and landing pages. Users also get access to Kajabi University and a plethora of ready-to-use templates.
The Growth plan costs $199 per year and allows users to have 15 products, 15 funnels, up to 25,000 contacts, 10,000 active customers, 10 admins and all of the other features that are included in the more affordable plan.
Finally, the largest plan is billed at $319 per year and allows people to work with up to 100 products, 100 funnels, 20,000 active customers, 100,000 contacts, three websites, and up to 25 admins.
There are monthly plans available but they do not include the 20% discount that people can benefit from if they pay for the whole year. As you can see, this is not a cheap service, but when running a successful business, it might pay off to try it.
The challenge that you will have to face as an affiliate marketer promoting these plans will be to address the share of your audience that is indeed interested in creating online courses, podcasts, memberships, or anything else that can be done with Kajabi.
In a way, that means B2B marketing rather than B2C, so it can be quite difficult to achieve that. However, if you manage to do it, you will have lots of things to benefit from.
Joining the new Kajabi affiliate program
Joining the Kajabi partner program can be done on the brand’s own website. From the information that we have gathered, it doesn’t seem as if any affiliate networks work with Kajabi, at least not at this time.
You will be asked for some information on your website and some personal data, but this is something that is to be expected from any other affiliate program.
We suggest taking the time to check out the Partner Program Terms page on the official website just to make sure you abide by all of the rules and you don’t risk getting booted out of the program by accident.
For example, you are not allowed to use email marketing to promote the program if your audience does not specifically ask for this type of service or ask you what Kajabi has to offer. It goes without saying that your Kajabi affiliate links cannot be present on any websites promoting violence, adult content, or any type of discrimination.
Deals, discounts, coupons or anything else shouldn’t be used for marketing, either. You are also not allowed to use pay per click ads that include the Kajabi name (this is something we came across in many other affiliate programs).
And finally, as per the Federal Trade Commission in the United States, you should always disclose that your links are affiliate links and that you can make a small commission if people decide to make a purchase through them.
How much can you earn as a Kajabi affiliate?
While we can’t give you a clear amount of money that you can make with this affiliate program given that there are many variables that need to be considered such as your audience’s needs and the amount of traffic your website is getting, we can talk about commissions.
Kajabi pays you a 30% commission on each referred sale you get to make. But the best thing is that these are recurring rates that we are looking at. So, if someone gets a subscription and then renews it, you will still be earning 30% out of the next plan they choose.
We’d also like to note that there are eight different reward systems. So, besides the commission for the sales per se, you might expect different rewards based on the level you reach. The tiers vary from the Blue Level to the Legend Level and they are categorized based on the number of active referrals you have.
All of the commissions are paid on the 25th of every month for people who get the monthly subscriptions and once a year for users who opt for the yearly plan — so the moment they pay, that’s when you’ll get your commission.
On top of everything, there is a 60-day waiting period for all of the commissions just to make sure that no one asks for their money back or there is any other issue in this sense.
Kajabi affiliate payments
When it comes to the Kajabi affiliate payout, you need to have an active PayPal account in order to withdraw your earnings. We couldn’t find any other information as to whether Kajabi can also pay you through direct transfers, ACH, or anything else.
Unfortunately, PayPal can have some pretty hefty fees especially when it comes to currency exchange. So, if you get your earnings in USD, for example, and you then need to withdraw your money to your bank account using PayPal, expect to pay a significant commission (sometimes it can go up to 10% or more). If you do not have a working PayPal account for any reason, this is not the right affiliate program for you.
Pros and cons of being a Kajabi affiliate
When it comes to being an affiliate of any program out there, you need to know the benefits and drawbacks before deciding to promote it on your site. As is the case with its competitors, the Kajabi one comes with pros and cons.
First of all, the fact that the 30% commission is a recurring one is probably the most significant advantage. There aren’t a lot of other companies offering recurring commissions right now, so at least you can rest assured that every month you’ll still be making some money when a Kajabi affiliate referral pays for their subscription.
Depending on the number of active referrals you have, you can get various rewards, which can range from Apple watches to Amazon gift cards and bonuses that can go upwards of $500 per month.
Additionally, as an affiliate, you gain access to the Partners Training Program where you can learn everything you need to know to be a successful Kajabi affiliate.
The affiliate support is also worth writing home about. Any marketer can work with a manager or get an answer from the service if they run into any issue.
When it comes to the drawbacks, there aren’t that many, but we do have to note them here just for the sake of transparency. The first con would be the fact that the service itself isn’t cheap, so the number of referrals you’ll have can vary a lot or might not be too high because users just don’t have that much money to fork out every month.
There’s a money back guarantee in place, so if someone cancels their subscription before having to pay or even if they have paid, you are not going to earn any commission.
More importantly, if you are not a Kajabi user yourself, you will not have the ability to become an affiliate.
Should you join the Kajabi affiliate system?
It all boils down to what your audience needs. If your blog or website is speaking to other entrepreneurs and giving them advice on how they can make their businesses better, you may experience some degree of success with the Kajabi affiliate program.
If you are not in the right niche, though, there’s really no point to recommending Kajabi to your readers.
Besides, you also need to be a Kajabi user yourself, and that can be costly — so consider everything before taking this step, since you need to ensure that your referrals can at least cover the cost of your monthly subscription.
Alternatives to the Kajabi affiliate program
If Kajabi doesn’t seem like a good option for you in terms of affiliate marketing, check out some of the other choices that we have showcased below.
Thinkific
The Thinkific affiliate program makes it possible for you to make 30% (recurring) out of every sale you refer to the website. The brand is more transparent when it comes to the cookie duration, though, which is not something that we have commonly come across in this niche.
The window lasts for 90 days, so your audience has up to three months at their disposal to make a purchase.
Teachable
This one is extremely similar to what Thinkific can offer in the sense that you can earn a 30% commission and you get a 90-day cookie window. However, with the Teachable affiliate program, your commission rate can actually get higher the more conversions you make.
If you run several different niche websites, you’ll be happy to know that Teachable works with the Impact affiliate network to manage everything — which you might already be using.
Podia
Podia is a somewhat more affordable choice in that some of the lowest plans are priced at $39 per month and $89 per month respectively. The largest plan they have available costs $199 per month and includes all of the features that anyone might need.
As an affiliate, you can make up to 30% out of your referral’s sales — and this is yet another case of recurring rates. From the info we’ve gathered about it, Podia also has great affiliate support.

LearnDash
This one is a pretty good alternative to what Kajabi has to offer in the sense that you make 35% out of the initial sale and all of the future upgrades, too.
The plugin itself costs $199 per year for one site and makes it very easy for people to create their course and host it on their own WordPress website. The subscription costs $399 per year for up to 10 websites, which obviously means a better commission for you.
Teachery
As a Teachery affiliate, you can make 25% out of every referral sale you make — and this is also a recurring rate we’re discussing, so much like what Kajabi has to offer.
On the upside, the service is much more affordable, so you might be able to make more sales. On the other hand, that also means that you aren’t going to make a lot of money off the bat.
For example, if the user chooses the monthly plan, they pay $49 per month, so that means $12.5 for you every month. If someone opts for the annual plan, they pay $470 in one go, which means $117.50 for you.
