If you’ve been looking for new opportunities to earn online and you’re having a hard time finding the right affiliate program for your needs, you’ve ended up in the perfect place.
For today’s article, we’ve prepared an iPage affiliate review, where we’re looking at everything you should know about the program before you submit the application.
To make things as simple as possible, iPage is a web hosting company that’s been around for more than 13 years now. It’s based in Burlington, Massachusetts and over the past decade or so, it has managed to amass more than one million users across the world.
The web hosting services themselves are reliable, effective, and affordable, making it a great choice for people who want a website to use as a portfolio, for example, or just anything else, including small e-commerce sites.
Some of the hosting plans are very budget-friendly, and while they might come with more or less limited features, they definitely speak to the needs to the people who are not enthusiastic about spending an arm and a leg on web hosting.
While it’s perhaps less known compared to other hosting services, whether that be HostGator, Bluehost, SiteGround, or even GoDaddy (the last of which has definitely not done well in terms of reputation over the past years), iPage does offer a 30-day money back guarantee along with 24/7 phone support.
There are quite a bit of products that you can suggest to your readers, in the sense that iPage isn’t just limited to web hosting. They also sell domains, different types of hosting (for WordPress or they easy to use website builder), some security plans such as those for SSL certificates and SiteLock, along with email through Google Workspace.
The majority of these features are included in the plans per se, which means that people have to commit to pay for a fee either every month or get billed for a whole year or even 36 months.
Whenever the plans go on special, they are indeed affordable, but they need to be billed for one and a half year’s time, which can be a bit of a drawback for some prospective buyers.
Some of the extra features that your audience might be able to enjoy if they do decide to buy through your iPage affiliate links range from site analytics and unlimited email addresses to search engine ad credits and an eCommerce functionality.
Well, when you get your domain name, add the web hosting for it, a free SSL certificate and some add-ons, it can get pretty hefty. But separately, the plans do start at $1.99 per month, which shouldn’t scare any of your referrals.
It’s just that some of the domains can be very, very expensive, especially those that have particularly catchy names, which means that the total bill for those along with the features and services that we mentioned above might get as high as several hundreds or even thousands of dollars.
We’re a little disappointed by the fact that even this company finds that it’s normal to run its affiliate program through their own website.
Yes, that does allow brands to have complete control over what’s happening, but it can also be a significant disadvantage for huge affiliates who might have dozens and dozens of different websites.
In other words, you will have to take the time and effort to submit an application on iPage’s own website because otherwise, you have no means of becoming an affiliate. We suggest reading the iPage affiliate agreement before you decide to take this step, especially if you are interested in something in particular.
For example, if you don’t take the time to read the fine print, you might not even realize that you need to wait for at least 45 to 70 days before your commissions are approved by the iPage team, which is even longer than the Net60 system that most other companies now use. So that’s what you should know about the iPage pay out schedule.
Anything else related to data security, order processing, obligations regarding your affiliate site, provider responsibility, policies and pricing, along with emails and publicity can be found in this document, so just make sure you give it a thorough read.
For example, you are not allowed to send out any bulk email where you use your iPage affiliate links — bulk doesn’t necessarily mean spam, so in this particular case, it could also refer to a regular newsletter/email list, so pay attention.
Once you are aware of all of the information, you can go to the affiliate signup page and fill out a form. You’ll be asked for basic information such as your username and password, a security question, your email address, your business/organization name, your first and last name, your phone number, along with your payment information.
This is where you can actually select your preferred method of payment. And finally, you will also be asked to provide your website URL.
One thing we do have to admit when it comes to being an iPage affiliate – the commission rates really don’t look bad at all. Depending on the types of services your referrals opt for, you have a fairly good chance of making a decent income every month with just this program.
To that extent, you will earn unique commissions based on each type of hosting. For example, if someone gets shared hosting for the whole year, you’ll be paid a flat rate of $105. The same goes for the VPS hosting since the commission is practically identical.
When someone gets the WP Essential Hosting plan for 24 or 36 months, your rate will be $120 while for the dedicated hosting plans purchased through your affiliate links, you can expect to make $150 off the bat.
Given what we have seen in similar affiliate programs, we might even go as far to say that iPage has some of the best commission rates out there.

There are four main methods you can pick from — hosting credit, PayPal, ACH, and check, but for the check method, you will need to provide a mailing address in either North or South America, Australia, Europe, New Zealand, or Asia.
If you are based in any other parts of the world, good luck trying to withdraw your earnings through checks. But there are all of the other methods, after all, and while we’re definitely not crazy about the PayPal one, it undoubtedly has its advantages if you’re in another part of the world where you might not use the others.
Although we couldn’t find any threshold specifically stated on the company’s website, we believe it might be something around $50 just for the convenience of it — and the fact that some of these payment methods can have pretty hefty fees, so it might not make sense to withdraw your earnings at just $10.
Another aspect we have to note here is that we found some conflicting information in the user agreement and the page about partnerships and their affiliate program. For example, according to the second, commissions are processed between 15 and 30 days after they are registered.
On the other hand, the agreement states that the period that affiliates need to wait to have their commissions approved ranges between 45 and 70 days. If that includes the waiting period before the payment is done at the end of the month or not, we don’t know.
As a Bluehost affiliate, you can make $65 per every referred sale. This program is managed by Impact Radius, a highly user-friendly and effective affiliate platform.
As for how you will be getting your money, Bluehost can pay you either through PayPal or through Electronic Bank Transfer, depending on your preferred method. The best thing is that they pay the fees for each transfer, so you can rest assured that you’ll get every cent of the $65 commission.

Hostinger’s affiliate program is a fairly good alternative if you don’t feel comfortable recommending iPage to your audience right now. But the drawback is that even though at the most basic earning model, you can make 60% out of the value of every referred sale, that doesn’t amount to a lot since some plans cost just $2 per month.
The minimum payout threshold is $50, but at least you can be paid through both PayPal and direct deposit.
You’ll more or less money with the SiteGround affiliate program only depending on your performance. For instance, if you make anything between just one and five sales per month, you’ll be paid $50 for each. But when you get to over 5 sales, you can start earning $75 per sale instead.
The best things about this program is that there’s no payment threshold whatsoever, so if you need cash, you can withdraw your earnings whenever you want, plus you get paid weekly anyway.

While it might not seem as lucrative as some of the other options we have mentioned here, A2 Hosting is one of the most reputable companies in the trade, so at least there’s that.
As an affiliate, you can make anything between $55 and $75 sales with the mention that your rate can be increased to $100 per sale if your performance is truly stellar. Plus, the cookie lasts for 90 days, which is not too bad given the 30-day industry standard.
This one isn’t too great if you’re looking for ways of making a lot of money fast, and the not so good thing about it is that the commissions aren’t even recurring. Some of the Namecheap plans currently being sold are very affordable, which means that in some cases, such as when someone gets the VPN trial, your rates could get as low as $2.
But for any other services, you do have a pretty good chance of making decent money. For example, the web hosting and SSL services can give you a 35% commission while the domain registrations will get you 20%.

The HostGator affiliate program can be a quite lucrative opportunity, especially if you’re keen on the idea of recommending good-quality services to your audience. Besides web hosting, HostGator also has a very nifty website builder that can be used by anyone, regardless of their coding skills.
Depending on the number of signups you manage to convert every month, you can make anything between $65 to $125 per signup. The program is managed by Impact Radius, so that’s one less thing to worry about — since the platform has more than enough affiliate managers in case you run into an issue.
This one is pretty good in the sense that you can make as much as $500 for every referral. You actually have two different ways of earning with this one — if you get someone to sign up for a Flywheel account for the first time you’ll make a commission, but the same goes for people who are switching from a different provider.
From what we have gathered about this affiliate program, it seems that the brand sends out earnings to their affiliates at the end of every month. The cookie lasts for 90 days and the only payment method available is PayPal, which can be a bit of pain but it’s still manageable.
