Best Hunting Affiliate Programs

If you’re looking to build a new niche site and you’re all out of ideas, the hunting industry should be a good option. The reason for this is that most of the products that you will be writing about and recommending to your audience cost a lot, so you are going to feel happy with your commissions.

In today’s article, we are looking at some of the best hunting affiliate programs. We’ll also specify the commission rates and cookie durations for each one, so keep on reading!

Best hunting affiliate programs

1800Gear.com

Although we decided to showcase this hunting affiliate program as our top choice, you might feel less impressed about the commission — 10%. However, the cookie does last for two months, so your audience does have some time to decide whether they want to purchase a particular hunting accessory or not.

1800Gear has a wide selection of hunting products, from optics and outdoor gear. Apparently, the average order is a little over $100, so you’ll be getting at least $10 per referred sale.

Also, you can join this program through AvantLink, an affiliate network, and the platform can let you know everything you might be interested in, such as your stats.

BlackOvis

BlackOvis is another hunting affiliate program that you should definitely look into if you are in this niche. First of all, the website is among the best-known ones in the industry, and there are lots of hunters who trust it.

The products sold on the site are actually some that the team at BlackOvis has tried in the past, so their recommendations are legit. The company is also well-known for offering excellent customer support, which is another reason to recommend it.

As for the commission value, it tends to range from 6% to 10%, depending on the category of products your readership eventually purchases. The cookie duration is the same as that of 1800Gear, meaning 60 days. The BlackOvis affiliate program can be managed through AvantLink.

Brownells

Even though both the cookie duration and the commissions of this affiliate program are lower than those of the first two we’ve described, we still think that it might be a good idea to have a look at it.

For every sale, you’ll receive a commission of 5%, which might not seem like a lot. However, you should consider that most hunting products are quite expensive (perhaps with the exception of some hunting optics), so the value itself is not going to be too low.

The cookie does last for just two weeks, though, which can be looked at as a drawback. If you recommend a specific deal, we’d like to underline that the affiliate link cookie will expire in just 3 days, not the standard 14 ones.

This affiliate program can be managed through both AvantLink and ImpactRadius, where you can get a wide variety of marketing tools and check all of your stats, too.

Deadwood Knives

While hunting knives are significantly cheaper compared to other hunting accessories such as crossbows or even extras for shotguns, this affiliate program should be right up your alley.

We base this statement on the fact that the commission is 11%, which clearly isn’t bad, but the cookie lasts for 180 days. In other words, your audience has approximately half a year at its disposal to make up its mind and place an order. And you’ll still get a commission.

The value of the products ranges a lot, so on this website, you can find knives that are priced at $50, but there are some that can go beyond $300. A nice thing about this affiliate program is that it can be managed through ShareASale, a very common affiliate network that you might already be using for your other niche sites.

The Crossbow Store

As its name suggests, this site specializes in selling some of the best crossbows and accessories for this kind of hunting. Based on the information that we found about the company, it seems to offer pretty good customer services. Their prices are also quite competitive.

Since what you are likely to be most interested in is their affiliate program, we have to note that the commission is a fixed 8% one, but the cookie does last for three months.

ShareASale is the place to go if you want to manage your earnings, clicks, and everything else with ease, especially on this program. Although we couldn’t find any specific info on this, apparently, your commissions can be increased based on your performance — so that might be something worth looking into.

Wing Supply

While this website itself hasn’t been around for that long, the physical stores known as Wing Supply have definitely been here for a number of decades, since they were first created in 1982.

The retailer focuses on waterfowl and wing shooting supplies, and it is based in the United States. But you’ll find a wide variety of hunting and outdoor accessories on the website, so there’s something for everyone.

The commission is 6%, and the cookie duration is 45 days, which we’d say is more than decent. Also, Wing Supply uses ShareASale for its affiliate program, so that’s another pro to consider if you’re having second thoughts about becoming an affiliate.

Field Supply

What’s interesting about this website is that it is not only geared toward hunters, but it also focuses on things for outdoor people. In fact, we’d say that it focuses on accessories for outdoor individuals and ‘manly men’ since they even have cigars and boxers on sale.

As for the affiliate program, the commission is a fixed 5% on all orders, and the cookie lasts for 30 days. Perhaps that’s not too impressive, but the truth is that the retailer has become quite popular over the past several years, so you’ll be recommending a trustworthy brand.

Also, you can manage your earnings and all the other stats through PepperJam, a network that you can also use for other programs.

What we’d also like to note about the Field Supply affiliate program is that they tend to pay through Paypal. The threshold is just $5, so you don’t have to wait to make $100 as is the case with other sites.

EuroOptic

As you can pretty much tell from the name of this retailer, the site specializes in hunting optics. The company sells a wide range of products from some of the best-known brands, such as Leica, Vortex, or Swarovski. It might seem a little controversial, but they also sell rifles and pistols on the site — for which you obviously need a permit.

The affiliate program might or might not be worth joining depending on your expectations. For example, the commission can range from 3% to 5% and the cookie lasts for just fourteen days — so considerably less compared to other retailers.

On the upside, EuroOptic uses AvantLink to manage their affiliate program, so at least you’ll be able to see everything you might be interested in in a single place.

Natchez Shooters Supplies

With an average order that’s almost $200, this is another affiliate program that you should consider. The downside is that the commission is just 4% and the cookie duration (14 days) isn’t really worth writing home about, either.

On the other hand, you can at least use this website with AvantLink, but that’s pretty much the only pro to the affiliate program, besides the fact that the brand is well-known among hunters.

Bass Pro Shops

This is a pretty well-known site that sells accessories for both fishermen and women and hunters. The network actually has a wide range of physical stores across the United States and the brand has been around since the 1970s.

Bass Pro Shops have an incredible variety of products for outdoor enthusiasts, so there will be no shortage of accessories that you will be able to recommend to your audience.

As for the affiliate program, the only important information we stumbled upon is that the commission is a fixed 5% on all orders.

Airgun Depot

This retailer offers a broad range of products and they range from BB and pellet guns to air pistols, air rifles, and ammo. They also have a fair share of accessories in the same industry.

We couldn’t leave out the Airgun Depot affiliate program from our list since the commission is 6%, but the thing that makes it truly stand out from the crowd is the cookie duration — 90 days.

Just to give you a clue as to how much the products listed on this website can cost, one of their popular ones is priced at over $1,000, so the commission isn’t that bad after all.

Cabela’s

This is perhaps one of the best-known brands in the hunting and outdoor industry. The company makes and sells a variety of products and they range from footwear and clothing to cabin and ATV and even snowmobile accessories. They also have extras for boating and fishing, and obviously, hunting.

While the commission you’ll get if you recommend Cabela’s products is not that great (3%) and the cookie is also not worth writing home about (just 14 days), with this one there are big wins to be had simply because the brand is so reputable.

HuntSmart

This one is pretty decent in terms of affiliate programs, but it can be quite challenging to tell just how much money you are going to make with it. Unless you join either Skimlinks or Viglink (now known as SOVRN), you’re probably not going to find out that the commission is a fixed 6% for all orders and the cookie lasts for 30 days.

In terms of what you can recommend to your readership, there are a lot of product categories on this website and they range from tracking devices to light systems and hunting accessories.

Amazon Associates

We obviously left Amazon Associates right for the end of our selection for today’s article for two reasons. The company slashed the commissions back in 2020 and that was a huge hit for many affiliates.

Getting back to the two reasons we were mentioning, the first is that the commission for outdoor accessories is just 3% and the second is that the cookie lasts for just 24 hours.

In other words, you are not going to be making a fortune by being an Amazon affiliate. However, since some people like the convenience of their services and they are such a huge brand, after all, it might be a good idea to consider it anyway.

You probably know that you should never put all of your eggs in one basket, so at least you can vary your income sources by including Amazon links, too.

Why you should promote hunting products

Hunting is somewhat of a controversial niche for affiliates, especially those that care about animals and the environment, in general.

But the truth is that the practice is sometimes used to control animal populations in specific areas where otherwise they would reproduce too much and affect people, too.

The most important reason to build a niche hunting website these days is that regardless of the affiliate programs you will end up choosing, the value of these products is not too low.

For example, when comparing a totally different niche to the hunting one, let’s take the pets one — the value of the products can’t even be compared. Most dog beds and other such accessories are priced at under $30, but most hunting accessories are at least $100. Some of them can get as expensive as $1,000 or more, meaning that they can earn you more money.

One thing that we would like to add is that this niche is already quite competitive, so you will have to do your best to stand out from the crowd with proper keyword research, competition analysis, and on-page and off-page optimization.

If possible, try to pick a program that you can manage through a very common network like ShareASale — since you can use it for several different hunting affiliate programs and even your other niche sites, if you have more than one.
