Best Affiliate Programs for New Bloggers

If you are a new blogger and you’re looking for ways to monetize your blog, you have ended up in the perfect place. For today’s article, we have put together a list of the top affiliate programs for bloggers out there.

Since there are so many of them, we decided we’d showcase some of the best first and then categorize a few per each blog niche. We will merely describe the most advantageous ones and only mention the niche ones, so you should look into them on your own.

Best affiliate programs for bloggers

  1. Skimlinks

This is an online affiliate network that you might have come across if you’re looking to monetize your outbound links but make it as natural as possible. What the affiliate program basically does is to convert your links to services or products into affiliate links.

With this service, you earn as much as 75% of the revenue split. Before being paid, however, you will have to earn at least ten dollars. They accept new bloggers just as they do seasoned ones.

It’s quite easy to be approved in this affiliate network even if you haven’t been blogging for a very long time. With this service, you get to access companies such as, TinyPrints, or Zullily.

While there are many affiliate programs on the platform for which you will have to be approved automatically, there are some that verify and review your site manually and get back to you in a matter of a couple of days.

With Shareasale, the minimum payout is 50 US dollars, and they pay monthly once you have made your first sale. All of the payments are made through bank transfers. We’d argue that this is one of the best-known and reliable affiliate programs for bloggers out there.

  1. Amazon Associates

Even though Amazon dropped their commissions to the degree that most bloggers and website owners now earn less than half of what they used to, it’s still a program to consider. Why is that? you might ask.

Well, Amazon is the largest and best-known marketplace in the world, and it is available in a wide range of countries across the globe.

Due to their customer service, they have become one of the most convenient places to shop at, so even if you aren’t going to get too much money with this one, it’s still going to convince people to buy things more than if you were to use something different.

Besides, Amazon has a pretty easy approval process. You’ll earn commissions on everything that your referred customer has bought over a period of 24 hours. So, even if you recommend a vacuum cleaner and they end up buying laundry detergent, you’ll still get a commission on that sale, too.

The payment threshold is $10 for Amazon gift cards and $100 for bank transfers or payments in cheque.

  1. CJ Affiliates

Formerly known as Commission junction, CJ Affiliates is one of the largest affiliate networks currently available. The service works with companies that range from Walgreens to

If you’d like to give up Google Adsense or you’re looking for alternatives to it, and you have nothing against displaying specific ads on your blog, CJ Affiliates might be the solution to your problem.

You do have to make a sale during the first 6 months after joining their program, though. If you don’t, they will automatically close your account.

  1. MaxBounty

The main difference between the affiliate programs that we have already described and this particular one is that MaxBounty is dedicated. This means that a consultant will talk to you via email, phone, or Skype to find the right type of campaign that works for your blog niche.

There are more than 1,500 campaigns available on the platform, and they’re made for a wide range of niches from freebies and financial to dating, diet, insurance, or surveys.

To get approved, you will have to complete a call with an accountant manager, but the process doesn’t seem to be too complicated based on the info that we came across. You’re qualified for most programs once you’ve had this discussion.

As for the minimum threshold, it’s $100, but the best thing about MaxBounty is that it can pay you through Paypal. By the way, there are no transaction fees!

Choosing the right one for you

Affiliate marketing really isn’t that hard. You have to find the right program to suit your needs and your audience, though. Never recommend products or services that you do not trust or that you think are going to disappoint people in some way or another.

Doing so will make you look untrustworthy, and the chances of losing that blog reader forever definitely aren’t slim.

The revenue matters a lot, so you should base your decision on it at least partly. However, read the fine print when accepting the terms and conditions of each affiliate program.

These days, it seems like Amazon is becoming less and less popular because of them dropping the commissions, so you will have to decide between recommending something different and potentially not making a sale and making less money but referring more users (since Amazon is so well-known). This is just an example. There are lots of other factors you should mull over before picking one program over the rest.
