Affilorama Affiliate Program Review

We have something a little different for today’s article, an Affilorama review. Affilorama is a website that can assist people in learning more about affiliate marketing, which means that becoming an affiliate of this service only works for blogs and websites in the marketing sphere.

Read on to find out more about the Affilorama affiliate program, what pros and cons you can expect, frequently asked questions, and whether or not it’s legit.

Affilorama Affiliate Program Review

For the sake of clarity and consistency, we will only review the affiliate program and not the service that Affilorama actually offers. You can find a lot of information on the courses and tools that the platform sells on the official website, so there’s no need for us to describe them further.

What is Affilorama?

Affilorama could be described as a marketing training course and while there are several other products available for your audience, the courses are the most commonly used ones.

The brand also sells e-books and actual online training classes, as well as a variety of other materials that can help marketing noobs to become better at what they are doing and also make a bit of money on the side.

There are two types of memberships — free and paid. The free one does give people access to some content, but the paid one is much more generous and also richer in information. However, some affiliate marketers argue that it could do with a bit of updating on a regular basis.

What products can you promote?

We already mentioned the courses and everything else, but people who want to join the affiliate program should know that there are four main types of products that they can recommend to their audience:

  • AffiloTools
  • AffiloJetpack
  • AffiloBlueprint
  • Path2Passive

You’re probably wondering what the deal is with all of these fancy names, so we will give you a short definition for each of them. AffiloTools is a monthly subscription that can allow people to access the SEO tools and software that Affilorama is known for.

AffiloJetpack is a collection of components that most affiliates need if they want to set up a brand new website. AffiloTheme effectively explains to newbies how they can monetize their websites through affiliate marketing while Path2Passive heavily relies on creating a content strategy that allows people to generate passive income by increasing sales and increasing their organic traffic (including through evergreen content).

Is Affilorama legit?

Yes, Affilorama is a completely legitimate business. There really are not any reasons to be concerned in this sense and while we have seen that some people search for whether or not Affilorama is actually legal in the United States, we’d like to clearly say that it is.

But how useful is the content that beginning marketers can find on Affilorama? Well, it depends on their previous knowledge. If they are just learning the basics of affiliate marketing, they might find it to be useful.

Unfortunately, we have also come across several Affilorama complaints that were strictly related to the fact that the content is quite dated.

If you’ve been in the affiliate marketing world for a while, you probably know that things can quickly change from one day to the next, so keeping up with everything is a challenge.

Apparently, the people behind Affilorama could do with a bit of updating work every now and then.

Signing up

You can use the Affilorama website to join the platform; you aren’t going to come across any problems whatsoever.

The company will ask for some really basic information such as your name, your email address, the URL of your website, and your ClickBank ID (since that’s what they mainly use for marketing).

We’d also like to note that an affiliate support team does exist, so if you run into any issue, there will be someone you can communicate with.

How much money can you make with Affilorama?

Before we move on to the things that really interest you, meaning the commission rate and the cookie length, let’s first look at how much the products cost. This will allow you to get a picture of how much money you might be able to make with this affiliate program.

Your earnings depend on which product your audience decides to pick. For example, the Path to Passive guide costs just $37 and people also have the option of asking for a full refund if they find that the information in the guide is not right for them. If they ask Affilorama to give them their money back in just 60 days after the initial purchase, you will also lose your commission.

The AffiloJetPack costs $997 while the AffiloTheme is priced at $97.

So, when it comes to the earnings you can expect with the Affilorama premium affiliate program, we will tell you that the commission for all products is a fixed 50% one. That means that if someone gets the highest subscription, you can make as much $498.50 in one go.

The cookie lasts for 60 days, which definitely isn’t bad, and as you might have noticed up until now, the program functions based on a CPS model (cost per sale).

Once you are accepted into the program, you will be able to use two networks to manage everything — either VigLink or ClickBank, depending on what you have already joined. This makes the task of handling everything, including the analytics, very easy.

Both of these platforms are going to allow you to gain access to a wide range of marketing materials, such as banners, links, or example reviews (and keyword lists). You also get webinars and other promotional tools.

We would also like to note that the only payment method available if you become an Affilorama affiliate is PayPal. And as you know, PayPal has some pretty hefty transaction fees, which is something that not many affiliates are crazy about — but we would still argue that the high-value commission somehow makes up for this drawback.

Pros and cons to becoming an Affilorama affiliate

One of the first things that we could note in the way of pros would be the 60-day cookie.

Since it is also free to join Affilorama in the first place, some people might choose to pick the free plan first and only after they’re convinced that the premium one might be worth it, they could end up opting for it.

It also appears that the video lessons and the rest of the content that Affilorama has to offer is very easy to follow and the step-by-step process detailed in the material makes it possible for pretty much anyone to learn the basics of affiliate marketing.

In other words, you will have less of a hard time promoting these products if people try them and they become convinced that they are good.

There’s also the option of talking to an affiliate manager or someone from Affilorama if you run into an issue, which is definitely an aspect that makes this program stand out from the crowd. Unfortunately, this is not the case for so many other networks and programs out there, probably also because of the dozens of thousands of products they have on the platforms.

When it comes to the drawbacks, we would like to note that while the premium products are somewhat recent, anything that’s free on the site is dated. No one tells new marketers that this is the case, though, so that could be a problem.

However, the fact that there is a 60-day money-back guarantee on Affilorama products will reassure those interested in getting anything premium that they can get their money back if they are dissatisfied for one reason or another.

As previously mentioned, the fact that Affilorama pays its affiliates only through PayPal can be not only restrictive, but also more expensive compared to other methods (including Payoneer).

How does Affilorama compare to similar services?

There are roughly two main competitors that we have found and can compare to Affilorama in the sense that both are educational and aimed at people wanting to learn more about digital and more specifically, affiliate marketing, and they both have affiliate programs. They are Wealthy Affiliate and ClickBank University.

Affilorama vs Wealthy Affiliate

There are quite a bit of differences between these two. First of all, as we have already specified above, the commission rate for all Affilorama products is a fixed 50%. That’s different from Wealthy Affiliate in that the commission is a fixed $23.5 one for all referrals.

Another thing that separates the two is that while on Affilorama, the cookie life is just 60 days, Wealthy Affiliate effectively offers a lifetime cookie. Therefore, even if you might think that the commission might not make this program worth considering, the lifetime cookie allows you to get recurring earnings time and again.

Another difference is that Affilorama can pay affiliates twice a month through ClickBank while Wealthy Affiliate does the same on the first day of every month.

They both function on a CPS model and they both offer quite a lot of marketing materials to their affiliates.

Affilorama vs ClickBank University

These two have some similarities and some things that completely differentiate them. For example, ClickBank University has the same 60-day cookie duration. However, when it comes to the commissions, that’s where the differences begin to appear.

ClickBank has varying commissions, so that’s where it is unique from Affilorama. The rates can range from 25% to 75% depending on what your audience spends their money on.

You also have a lot of marketing tools that you can use to your advantage if you want to promote ClickBank University services, so there’s nothing new to note in that respect.

However, the payout details, both when it comes to the frequency and when it comes to how ClickBank pays its affiliates, are different. You have the option of utilizing direct deposit with this platform, which is not available with Affilorama. If you have any other accounts, you will get the money once a fortnight, but if you pick international or US direct deposits, you can choose to be paid once a week or bi-monthly.

Therefore, you can get your money quicker from ClickBank University and you also don’t have to pay for the same hefty PayPal fees. However, even though the commissions don’t seem low, we do have some bad news for you.

The average amount of money you can earn through ClickBank University for the first subscription is just 35 dollars. While the cookie does last 60 days, the commissions are recurring, so during the next few months, you will earn just $11.75/month.

You will have to work out whether that makes sense for you or not.

Conclusion

So, should you become an Affilorama affiliate? It all boils down to what you expect in terms of earnings and also your ability to promote the products on your blog or website.

If you already have a pretty decent site with thousands of people coming in asking for your advice, perhaps Affilorama might be right up your alley. There are better courses out there, though, and many of them are free, so you will have to consider that, too.

We’d say that the biggest issue with this affiliate program is the fact that while you do have a 50% commission, people are going to think twice before forking out $1,000 for a course — that is a lot of money, after all, especially for an affiliate marketer who’s just starting out.

Also, if you already sell your own courses, Affilorama will basically be your competitor, so you might be wary to recommend the brand’s products for that reason, too.
